LIENS

This is a document that advises creditors or potential creditors that you owe money to the Government. Internal Revenue Service files this document to protect the interests of the Government. A lien does not take any direct negative action against you but will destroy your credit. Liens can only be removed by payment, abatement, bond or statute expiration. Generally, the "payment" feature is the one you will see. Solution: Begin to straighten out your situation and call me. LEVIES

These are much more serious than Liens. A levy is an actual 'perfection' of a lien. A levy can be against your wages, your bank account, your stocks, etc. Simply stated, what ever the Internal Revenue Service levied, is now theirs to be applied to your tax liability. SEIZURES

This is the worst kind of Levy. If you are the victim of a seizure of your assets, your situation is very serious. Internal Revenue Service can and will sell your assets for whatever they can get above a minimum bid. They will be selling at Forced Sale Value rather than Fair Market Value. EXAMINATIONS

If you are notified of an Examination (Audit), preparation is the key. You should marshal each and every record so that you can provide proof of your deductions.
